here in California, a person is allowed to choose which body shop will return his or her vehicle to pre-loss condition. My insurance company states that this repair only shall include pulling out the dent and using bondo while the shop i have selected wants to replace the quarter panel.Do they have the option of denying me the higher costing and in my opinion correct method of repair? Yes they do. You will have to pay any expenses above what your insurance company will pay. Although you may disagree with the insurance company, they are trying to save us all money. If they paid every claim what the insured thought they should pay, our insurance rates would be a lot higher than they are now. Read your policy, it should spell out how they determine how much to pay for each claim.
