Over two months ago I purchased cabinets 14K worth for a new home. At the time I purchased them they told me delivery would take 5 weeks, so I ordered 5 week before I needed them. They arrived in 2 weeks and I was not ready to receive them and many other things were going on, so I had them deliver them into the garage, but I was unable to wait for them to unload and I had someone else lockup when they were done. I signed for the delivery the thing I signed did not have any detail (item count, etc), so I figured if something was missing I would work with the company to get it in 3 weeks when I was going to get to unboxing the cabinets. Well 2 months have passed and I have installed the cabinets... and there were only a couple of things messed up on the order, so I did not contat the company becauses there website states you have only 5 days to file a claim, so I just worked around it ( had to finish coat the end of a couple of cabinets).. So yesterday I get an email telling me they doubled my order, and they though that they had canceled the second order before it shipped to me but now they think they did not catch it in time and they want to charge me 14K for cabinets I did not receive. They faxed me a document showing the delivery receipt that I signed... but now it has detail (box count), which was not there before, but I did not get a copy when I signed it. So what do I do.. I have told them I did not get a duplicate order, they are saying the proof of delivery shows 50 boxes, a double order... the issue appear that the manufacture is saying they never received the extra cabinets back when the people I ordered from canceled the 2nd order and they want the people I purchased the cabinets from to pay for them and the people I ordered from are now coming after me. I told them that the POD they faxed me was not what I signed....
Any sugestions on what I should do next... It is very hard to prove you did not receive something, and that is what they want me to do... prove it or pay 14KWhat is the name of your state?
