What is the name of your state? NY
Is there any reason why a motion to compel disclosure re: Medical and educational records would be denied? Court case coming up and I just want to be sure. I filed this motion because it was ridiculous for me to try to get information from my children's schools about ANYTHING unles they first 'checked' with my ex...one time it took over a week just to set up a pta conference because they were unable to get in contact with her to find out if it was 'OK' for them to meet with me:eek: I have NO clue who their doctors are (one would think asking would be enough right?) so any assistance is appreciated :)

Next time the school tells you they have to check with the ex first remind them of FERPA. Unless it is in your court order that you have to go thru mom to get this information and that you are not allowed school records you have just as much right to those records and to meetings with his teachers as your ex does.

You also have just as much right to thier medical information.

Who was the motion to compel against? Reason I ask is because I can't tell if it was against the other parent or the school.

srry bout the delay

Thank you about ferpa didn't know about that. As for the motion it is against the other parent since I also want to have access to their medical records.
