What is the name of your state? OR
In September 2005 we filed for Ch 7, but because we had income and failed to disclose 2 closed businesses, our application was converted to Ch 13.
We have been in Ch 13 and making payments for 4 months now.
We just received notice that our Ch 7 trustee wants to add a $1000 fee to our plan for professional services he performed prior to conversion.
Can we protest this? I think in about 6 months when my wife's unemployment runs out and our variable rate mortgage hits 9.5% and raises our payments $250 permonth, we will have to convert yet again to Ch 7.
I do not know what he did to earn this fee. Is it proper to ask for an itemized bill?

Sure, you can protest, but don't expect to win. You can certainly ask for an itemization of what 'services' he's asking to be compensated for.
