Compensation for Ring

My ex is taking me to court for compensation for a engagement ring that I lost. I rec'd the ring in 1994 on Christmas day. We have broken up several times and now that I took him to court for child support (he has been angry every since) is now wants me to paid for the ring. Does he have a case? He was told by his mother who wants the ring to take me to court. What are the laws in Delaware?
