What is the name of your state? California
I had sold a book online to a buyer in Illinois in January 2008 for $74. The description of the book had indicated that a return for this book would not be accepted.
After receiving the book, the buyer emailed me to make a return as she did not need the book anymore. I replied indicating that the book description had stated that returns would not be accepted for this book.
Thereafter, I did not hear back from her. However, two days ago, I received a letter from the Office of the Attorney General in the State of Illinois stating that she has filed a complaint for not being allowed to return and get a refund for the book.
If she is this adamant about returning the book, I am fine with it and will give her a refund.
However, I would like to find out the correct procedure in replying to the letter as it states - "The issue has to be resolved and a written resolution has to be sent to the Attorney general within 10 days."
Please advise. Thank you.
