We have lived in a condo for a few yrs the fees go up a few dollars every year now this year they are going to raise it 40% starting next month can they do this? What rights do you have when owning a condo? Some of the rules here none of us agree with. We live in Delaware. What can we do to have some of these rules changed when we attend the meetings we get no where they have the last say the assocation says they can raise it 40% that it is legal for them to do that.Is their anything we can do as homeowners living in a condo, besides move?

Of course there is.

Dont show such ignorance as when you say "Some of the rules here none of us agree with". If no one agreed with them, they wouldn't have such rules.

Rules and assessments are made by the community itself, through their elected representatives. If you think that this sounds like a government, you are exactly right.

If you don't like the government in America, you can always move. The same with your condominium.

If you choose to stay in either case, you can participate in the governing in the same way in either case.
