What is the name of your state? Utah
I have a new condo that I rent but the rental agent says he is not responsible for damages and the insurance company says "renters insurance" does not include my furnishings in a nightly rental unit. Some advice please.

My advice is you need to speak to your insurance carrier about getting insurance that covers whatever you want it to cover.

BTW, your post disappeared because it has an advertisement in the signature.

Thanks

They will not cover objects in the unit. I thought maybe there was a way to make the rental agency responsible.

You lost me, OP. What are they saying that they won't cover? Your insurance covers your stuff, regardless of where you store your stuff, up to the limits of the policy. Read your policy or explain better what you're asking.

You need to get a condo policy with the endorsement *rented to others*. Call whomever has your primary home/renters coverage and ask them about writing a policy.

Glad you figured it out. He's the landlord and his stuff is in storage. Gotcha. He needs to get renter's/home insurance for where he lives, and a LL policy for the condo.
