What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Pennsylvania

I live in a condo and my neighbor accidentally started a fire by smoking and burned down his unit. I did not have any personal home owners insurance (I thought the condo insurance that was included in my condo fee covered everything; not aware of separate personal property condo insurance). No body could live in the building for ten months while the building was being repaired. I had to rent out a place to live out of pocket as well as pay my mortgage/condo fees/utilities on my condo. The guy's condo insurance finally admitted that their client was liable and told us to submit claims for expenses incurred as a result of not being able to inhabit my condo. The rent was about a thousand whereas my condo expenses were almost $2000. Is it possible for me to submit a claim for the condo expenses instead of the rent because I'd rather be reimbursed for my payments for my beautiful, comfortable condo which I could not live in for 10 months vs. the ghetto apt I had to endure because I couldn't afford to pay for two places and was not sure how the insurance business would turn out.

Thanks for any feedback

you can only file on added cost to you

You can only file on added expenses. But thats catchy phrase there. It depends if you still have utility bills at condo. If do they will cover all expenses except food transportation etc.. If you had them bills before youll still have them no matter what happens to condo. They will only pay for added expenses. Rent,Utilities if still have them hooked up at condo.the move to new place and move back. Remember any added bill. If you were paying for it before fire you still gotta pay now. But they will pay for any added expense of living outside realm of condo.
