What is the name of your state? FL

I have a question on copyright/confidentiality agreements. I have an idea that needs financial backing. I understand I could go around and have them sign a confidentiality agreement but is there something else that I need to file (like a trade secret) with the government?
It would be a website providing a service to customers.
What would stop someone from taking the idea and turning it into the business I wanted?
Thanks,

You can not get financial backing unless you have a written business plan to show people. No one is going give you money if you just have an idea. A idea is worth about nothing without implementation. It is the implemenation of the idea that is valuable.

You can have people sign an non-disclosure agreement before you show them your business plan.

There is no where to register an idea that I know of.

Trade secrets are just that, a secret -- you don't need to "register" a trade secret, you just have to keep it secret.

I do not believe you can register anything with the government and still remain a secret. If you do register something it got to be triplicated and read by many different people!
