What is the name of your state? OK and Texas

My son's divorce attorney who has represented him in several matters over the years has recently become the attorney for another client who is apposing my son on several things my son had previously went to him for advice over. Can the attorney legally do this?

Please clarify.
Is the attorney representing the other person in a case against your son?
Does the attorney currently represent your son in any active matter?

No the attorney is not representing my son. But he received counsel from this attorney who has formally represented my son. The information/guidance/legal advice my son talked about with this attorney is now being use in a case with another person.

This is confusing. What stake, if any, does your son have in the case that you are talking about?

Is your son claiming that there is a conflict of interest in the attorney representing this other person because the attorney once represented your son?

Or is he claiming that the lawyer has violated attorney-client privilege?
