I live in Texas. I understand that a credit card debt cannot be used to make you sell your house under collection laws. But if a creditor gets a judgement, can they use that to put a lien on a house or is it just a judgement on your credit report? What assets can the judgement be used to get? It is a debt almost out of the SOL by 10/01 over a voluntary repo almost four years ago when I lost my job and I didn't know there was a balance due till a new collections firm contacted me over a balance now due of 9000. Would they sue after all this time? Thanks for your help.
