What is the name of your state? washington

I would like to know since my divorce decree states that the debts (bankruptcy) be split in half, is it legal for the collection agencies to
garnish my wages for the full amount owed? In this particular case it
is hospital bills that were accrued by my ex-wife. The bankruptcy was filed two years prior to the divorce.
please help thanx rseppi

It doesn't matter what the divorce decree states...because the creditors are not parties to the divorce.

If one party declares bankruptcy after the fact...then creditors are free to go after the other party for the full amount. It stinks...but its reality.
