I have recently purchased some Abercrombie and Fitch shorts from eBay, in order to resell them.

Upon recieving the merchandise I found out that it was fake, or counterfeited. It is very difficult to tell. The tags are all there, and there is a "RN" Number, whatever that means. I called up abercrombie to reported it and asked if there was any way for them to ID it and confirm it was a fake and what the course of action would be for distributing it. They would not disclose any relevant information, stating that they would only investigate the matter with the police, if I gave them the sellers name that I bought from. I did not give them the name.

I wanted to see what the current situation was on eBay and fake abercrombie clothing. Apparently it is pretty bad with some sources stating that 90% of the merchandise is imation. I don't believe this, but I am assuming that it pretty high, abercrombie does not wholesale any of its goods so getting a hold of it cheap it to make a profit must be difficult.

I would like to see the seller punished, but I do not wish to cause to much harm.

??????????????

Can you please tell me what the consequence are for distributing counterfeit clothing over eBay, whether or not you know of its authenticity.

Does the punishment vary depending on volume of sales/week?

??????????????

Thank you very much for your time. What is the name of your state?
