Someone please help. My dad in TX is an independent general contractor. He was going to do an add-on for a lady. He had a contract with her and got a draw to begin.
She requested that he do some extra work and he told her it would be extra. But before he began the add on, she decided that she wanted her draw back and didn't want him to do any more work. But with the material and added on work he only owed her $700 difference and she wouldn't take it. And now she's sueing for the whole draw and he don't have money for a lawyer. Somebody PLEASE send any advice to [email protected] please.

Does he have a signed contract? He only owes her $700 because the balance has already been spent on labor and materials. Have him send her a certified letter of explanation along with a cashiers check for $700. If she doesn't want to cash it that is her business.
