Last year (approx this time - Nov) working on a project through head construction company - I was paid as a sub through my corporation. My liability lapsed during this project. On this particular weekend on this project I specifically asked the project manager if he wanted me to cover the roof project we were working on - he said NO, so I did not - Sunday morning earily it rained - property damage to inside of house/furniture. Their insurance company paid the homeowner damages. Now the insurance company wants me to pay them back the damages? My corporation has since been disolved, they fired me after I finished the project. I did not have liability at the time of the damage - what is the law or what statutes can I read? Thanks.
