What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?I live and work in Canada, but our consultant works in our New Hampshire office.
Our company has engaged an international consulting firm to manage the implementation of a major software system. I work in our technology department, and part of my role is to ensure the new system meets our business needs or shortfalls are pointed out to management. I was asked to attend a presentation of the proposed solution recently, where which representives from each business area were asked to comment on the work done to date. Apparently, the lead consultant felt my comments were too negative, as after the meeting he sent an email to my supervisor indicating that I was being unduely critical and failed to offer solutions to the issues I raised. When I discussed with others in attendance, they felt I was not out of line in my comments or assessment.
My supervisor has indicated that I am now on probation, even though he did not attempt to gather any evidence to support the consultants claim. I am now afraid to raise any issues. My concern is that I may be dismissed as a result of this complaint. During the meeting, the consultant made no effort to ask me to change my approach, even though we have worked together for a couple of years. If I am to lose my job, do I have any recourse against the consultant?
