What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

I have filed contempt of court paperwork regarding the lack of child support payments from my ex. Is there a limit to the number of contempt charges? I have not received child support payments in three years, so the number of contempt charges is quite high. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

*Why I waited: initially to give him time to settle, then I was hoping the child support division would handle it. I was working with the child support division regarding this, but a year has passed and they have even less of a budget to deal with this.

Unfortunately, sometimes its flat out impossible for the CSE to collect from a deadbeat parent.

Unless the parent has a job that can be garnished, or assets that can be attached, it may never be possible to collect.

My daughter cannot collect at all. Dad is unemployed and earning money illegally. He does not have a driver's license to suspend. He has no bank account and no fixed address so the CSE cannot even serve him.

It may be impossible to collect, but there are still legal consequences for ignoring the court order. However, is there a limit to the amount of contempt of courts that can be (sorry, don't know legal terms) submitted before the court? If the number is more than a certain amount, is the submission of the order handled differently?
