How does one go about filing contempt of court charges? I am in MS. And what happens after they are filed? Does the other person get arrested or do they get papers sent to their attorney or what? I've never had to do this.

In MN, you can file for contempt at the court house -- you don't need a lawyer. Once you file the papers, you will be given a court date, the other party will be served with the papers, and then if that person doesn't show up for court, they can be arrested. Hope that helps.
