What is the name of your state? OH

My attorney is going to be filing contmept charges against my ex for not reimbursing me on medical bills. I know that no one has a crystal ball, but I'm not sure what to expect with this. I had 30 days to notify ex with proper paperwork, reciepts, etc. Ex had 30 days to pay me back. We just getting to his 30 days, and he hasn't sent it in. He told the therapist that he was not going to.

Can my attorney file as soon as the 30 days are up or is there a "grace period"?

What exactly is contempt? Can my ex be ordered to make payments instead of the balance in full? Upwards of 2,500.00 is amount due.

So people really go to jail for contempt in something like this, or is it just a slap on the wrist for the first time?
thanks for any help.

the judge can give him any reprimand he sees fit, either a slap on the wrist, a fine, and/or jailtime- I would hold my breathe for jail time over a medical bill though.

Not too much new to tell really. I have to meet with him next month with the psychologist. I'm not looking forward to that. I haven't talked to him in years. It will be hard to keep my cool, but I know that I have to. He told the dr. that he didn't want to meet with me because "this is none of her business" The dr. told me he nearly fell out of his chair when he said that. Msdad will meet my son after school lets out. Then they will start therapy together, before any supervised visitation starts. He also signed up for his parenting classes, but picks and choses when he's going to go instead of keeping the scheduled classes. I guess he assumes he can pick and chose when to parent.lol
He asked the dr. when would be the earliest that he could leave with my son, and the dr. told him that he couldn't say for sure, but if my son welcomed him with open arms and everything went according to plan he still wouldn't be able to leave with him until the begining of 2007. Msdad got red in the face and then started crying out of frustration. I was both glad and upset that he did that. I was glad because now the dr. knows I wasn't blowing smoke when I told him he use to cry over the smallest thing. I was upset because he is still doing it, and hasn't resolved any of his problems, and now he will most likely be spending time with my son. It threw a big flag to the dr. and know is going to order more tests for him to complete. Dr. said that was disturbing and something you would expect out of a teenager, not a grown "man"
He doesn't read a single court order that we have from the things that he tells the dr. He doesn't seem to realize that there is no actual order for vistiation, and that I can stop this at any time. He didn't read our child support order, and is over paying me a few dollars every month, and is complaining that child support went up from our last agreement. Had he read his order he would see that it actually went down a few bucks!!
He's such a tool.
