 What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL
-My dad passed away a month ago from Pancreatic Cancer. He had a life insurance policy for 20 years and in April 2008 they reissued it. He was currently in the 2 year Contestability period of policy when he died. We found out about the cancer in August of 2009. He had a minor heart attack in 2003, which he did not disclose on the re issuance of his policy, not to mislead, but he merely forgot because it was stress induced and his yearly visits to the cardiologist showed his heart was fine. The life insurance company asked for his medical records. His cause of death was from the cancer that he only had for 3 months and the third cause listed was heart disease, but it was explained to us by our Doctor that this simply meant his heart gave out in the end. Also he went to the cardiologist the 4 days prior to his death and they found no problems and he made an appointment for 6 months. My mom is very worried they are not going to pay the claim. Please help!!What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Stop worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. It is possible they still might pay her. If they do issue a reason for denying payment, come back to the message board and post again.
