She’s done that every other time in court. Ignore the papers and agree to what my husbands attorney asks. She didn’t even show up to her custody hearing and that’s one of the reasons she lost custody. There’s also a voice recording of her own mother saying that she doesn’t think she should have custody of him, and if she does, it needs to be supervised. There’s also proof of her lying to her mother about coming to see him and not showing up. She’s seen him less than 23 times in the past year and a half. And every local person i’ve talked to who knows the judge thinks the case is pretty strong as well. Maybe it’s just easier to explain all of the things to someone in person. It’s quite a bit worse than it seems in this thread. I just wanted to see how likely it seemed to someone possibly* more unbiased. I guess we’ll just see.
The voice recording means nothing. It is NOT admissible. Just because someone shouldn't have custody doesn't mean adoption is a done deal. 23 times in 18 months is still more than once a month. Not bad. Every local person? Are they all attorneys?

I think I regret posting here anyway. My attorney hasn’t seemed the least bit doubtful. and we’ve been in situations with her where she’s advised against something before. So I definitely trust her.
And before she was my attorney she was already advising my husband to plan to terminate rights in the future, the day that she was granted supervised visits.
You wanted some other opinions and you got them. You were also advised to listen to your attorney who has WAY more facts than we do. I don't know why you regret posting since you got exactly what you were looking for.

Yes they were attorneys? I was just posting those things to be put into perspective easier. I’ll just post an update once it’s over. She’s been to 19% of her visits. That’s not bad?? My attorney thinks otherwise.

She has not gone a year without seeing her child. Your attorney can think whatever. Doesn't mean the judge will agree. You need to see both sides.

Mostly because the people’s attitude here are more of thinking they know the outcome of things rather than just an opinion of what’s more likely. Asking for legal advice from random strangers right before a hearing probably isn’t wise, but it’s easy to second guess the situation and worry

I'm sorry if you already posted this...but where is the supervised visitation taking place? Is it at a center that Mom has to pay for? How old is the child?

That’s what my attorney is for. Like I said i’ll just post an update once it’s over.
But she mentioned how it’s usually unlikely if they dont go a year without seeing them. She was just saying because of her behavior at the visits, it’s a little different.

I don’t think i’ve posted it. It was at our home. But she was somehow able to steal things even with us being in the room, so we have it at a public library. For a while we were driving 45 minutes to the library for her convenience every saturday just for her to not show up or give a notice.
So we now have it at the. losest library to where we live.

Huh? People expressed their opinion, not absolute fact. Go back and read it, then consider apologizing.

IMO they gave an opinion and told you to listen to your attorney...:)

There is a HUGE difference between everything else that has been happening in court and the termination of parental rights.

Honestly, the reality of things is that most of what you have posted here is an argument against the biological mother having any actual custody of the child. It's not necessarily an argument against terminating the biological mother's parental rights. You are married to the child's father and will be a big part of the child's life one way or the other. Your attorney however really is the best person to advise you one way or the other.
