Closing the thread.... Hmmm. You guys olnly illustrate my oirginal post. You think I am Sherri eh? Ooooh, you guys are so clever... If that's true about the IP being visisble, just check it then, verify the state from which it originates. That should free up your minds to address what I originally posted. IAAL, indeed, none of you, have any real legal acumen and really have no business in a law forum. Get out, get lives, and leave legal discussions to the rest of us.

That they are. Pretty harsh too. Disregard most of what they directed your way. Your daughter will not be doing any jail time for this offense. If it is possible, go ahead and get her an alcohol assessment and into some sort of treatment/counseling before her first court date. The court will order you to do this anyway, so doing it before hand will show an initiative that can prove a strong mitigating factor in the formulation of her sentence. Go ahead and contact a good dui attorney in your area. You guys will be OK.

Thank you for your advice. I am going to make her a counceling appointment tomorrow. I really don't know if I should hire an attorney. I'm afraid it would be a waste of money. But maybe I could get some advice from one. Thank you

No problem Sherry. I do, however, recommend that you get an attorney. He/she should be able to plea it down to a lesser charge, making it easier for your daughter to get her driving privileges restored. I don't see a case like this costing anymore than $400. Good luck.

A $400.00 attorney? Yeah, that'll buy the best. At least it will if you only need to talk to them and get advice over the phone a couple of times.
Now if you expect him/her to research the case, subpoeana information, file motions and actually appear in person, in a courtroom in order to address the judge and present an argument, in other words, "represent your daughter's best interest", then I wouldn't be anticipating your legal expenses to top out at $400.00.

Hell, I just spent that much having a new windshield put in my car and the guy who installed didn't even speak English!

So don't fool yourselves into thinking you'll be getting much in the way of legal representation for $400.00. Not if your looking for a lawyer who speaks fluent English!

So before you two start singing cum-by-yah, try a multiplier of ten and see where that takes you.
