What exactly is contract for deed? We are buying a house contract for deed but we still haven't got a contract??? We are starting to feel like this is a shaky deal. We have lived here since November. We signed what appeared to be a contract with the owner but never got a copy. What kind of legal actions do we need to protect ourselves?

You need to talk to a real estate attorney in your state. You might also talk to a buyer's agent, but double check her answers with the attorney. Shaky may not begin to cover it..... Demand that the owner provide you with a copy of everything you signed. You have a right to copies of yor own contracts.

This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws.
