I bought a new car at Budget Car Sales today. I gave them my 1993 Ford Escort wagon in exchange for a down payment on the new car. I got home and realized I cannot afford the new car payment. I called Budget and they said that I can not return the car. Once I drove it off the lot the sale was final. Also I signed a form saying that within 72 hours I am allowed to bring the car back only to exchange it for one of equal or lesser value. that is it. Is there absolutely no recourse? I just want to return their car for my old car.

My response:

Unless the contract is illegal, or void, or voidable for some reason, the fact is you signed a contract and a deal is a deal.

You bought a car.
