regarding a social organization which is not incorporated

the organization planned an event and contracted with a hotel in Nashville to host the event. all of the board members have resigned since the contract was signed except for the person who actuallty signed the contract with the hotel. now the hotel is saying all of the members of the club who were members when the contract was signed will be liable for the lost revenue the hotel would have made. the organization is on the brink of disbanding but there are a few who would like to keep it together.

the question is: if a new board is elected will they become liable for the previous contract with the hotel, even if they were not members of the club at the time the contract was initiated. Also, is it likely that the hotel will actually pursue this to the point of a suit and will it affect all who were members at the time the contract was initiated or just the person who actually signed it.

thank you
