What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nj
I entered into contract with the local county home improvement contract. as per the contract work is to start on 5/18/15 and work is to be completed on or before 6/30/15. It's a bathroom renovation 5 by 7. Now the first change order dated 7/2 says "the contract sum will be increased by this change order xxxx.xx . The contract time will be increased by 45 days". Now the second change order dated 7/2 same day as first says "the contract sum will be decreased by this change order -xxxx.xx. The contract time will be increased by 75 days." The third contract order dated 9/28 states" the contract sum will be decreased but his change order xxx.xx. The contract time will be increased by 0 days."
So the question when is work supposed to be completed by these contract and subsequent change orders.
There is a clause in our contract that states" if work has not been completed as per the date on the contract, the sum of $25.00 shall be deducted from the balance due the contractor for each day the work remains incomplete."
