contractor now wanting extra money 5 months after job was completed and he was pd

had a roof put on by a contractor pd by insurance, due to hail damage. now he is wanting more money and we have receipt stating job complete also signed contracts stating the job was to be done for the amount we paid. the check from the insurance co was for extra, but we thought that was for any extras that arose, which did not happen. this is 5 months later. want to know if contractor has any ground to stand on here. all the papers we signed were for the amount we paid and did not know anything bout any extra amounts. this amount was called profit and overhead. we do have receipts and all contracts. want to also make sure we did not do anything wrong in regars to our insurance co. the billing and so on was done thru out insurance co and this roofer. the insurance co brought this roofer to our house. he and the adjustor came up with the amount we were to receive. the amount over on the insurance check was around $850. the roofer now wants an extra $1135. which as i said we do not understand what that is for we have nothing saying anything with that amount on it. we feel like this a scam. please help us. thank you also we are in indiana.
