Update

So I went to the court complex and asked which room my case was to be heard in, and the lady couldn't find info about it in the computer. When I arrived at the DA's office, after waiting a few minutes, the secretary told me that as of now the da doesn't have any charges filed in this case. Pretty sweet deal. I also won 120 dollars at the casino yesterday. woohoo

If he changed the charged section to PC 272 from BP 25658 (by completely removing the 25658), he just handed you a win ... time to go buy a lottery ticket. If he ADDED the section, then you will still have to deal with the 25658.

Thanks for the quick response Carl, do you know if I'm going to need to present any evidence of my friend not being under 18 on the day of my hearing?
If this hearing is the arraignment, all they are going to ask is a plea, no evidence will be submitted.

However, given that the offense of PC 272 is a misdemeanor, I would strongly suggest at least consulting with an attorney prior to the hearing or any trial. Even if the state has no case, it does not hurt to get that legal opinion as there may be something going on that you are not aware of ... perhaps one of your pals claimed to be 17, or, someone else claims you gave them alcohol. It doesn't hurt to be safe.
