What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

If parents have 50/50 custody with one parent having controlling expenses (haircuts, extracurriculars, etc), does having controlling expenses mean that parent should be supplying clothing for both households?

What would make you think that:confused:

My ex's lawyer is telling her that since I have controlling expenses, even though we have 50/50 custody, I should be either supplying her with clothing to keep at her house or sending them with a bag each week they go over there...

What do you mean by "controlling expenses"? Is she paying you child support because you are handling specific expenses? If so, then yes, the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines would require you to provide clothing for her household as well.

However, from a practical standpoint that is usually not what happens if a judge has to rule on it.

From a moral standpoint alot would depend on just how much child support she is paying you.

Again, we have 50/50 custody. Our incomes are broken up 55% vs 45% (I make a bit more than her). Total daycare expenses are $980/month and I write the check for that. The $417/month she is required to pay me almost covers her percent of the daycare.

If I did not have controlling expenses, she would have to pay me about $50 less per month. She says the reason I get that $50 extra is because I have controlling expenses, which she claims includes me providing clothing for both households. She claims her lawyer is telling her she is only required to feed and entertain them during her week, the rest is my responsibility.
