What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

I am seeking to use a song by the band "The Cure" for a film I am currently writing. Their record company is Elektra. However, I have been unable to find a valid contact who could grant permission. I checked BMI and ASCAP databases and found nothing specific I could use. Does anyone have a contact or suggestion?

You can find the copyright holder by doing a copyright search. Here are links to the US Copyright Office for database searches:

For The Cure's "Seventeen Seconds," for example, you will find that it has been registered by A&M Records, Inc. For a license to use that song, you can contact A&M.
