My dad wrote several songs which were never copyrighted. He has passed away in the last three weeks, and my mother and I are going to copyright his songs. How should we go about doing this so that my mother and future generations will benefit from any publishing of his songs on the market?

Thanks.

How do I put this? There is a difference between registering for copyright and it actually being copyrighted through mere creation.

What date(s) did he create the songs? Which date was the instrumental and which part was the lyrics?
