My response:

Why not ? Why do you find this so incredible, or strange, or wrong ?

Why should your child have to go without that glass of milk because the cost of living has increased ?

Yes, I find it incredible ! Cost of living increases come from her employer, not us. And it is rediculous to say they would go without a glass of milk. Besides our $400 support check, we give her an extra $200 and split all extras 50/50, voluntarily, out of the goodness of our heart, so she can maintain her selfish not for the children spendaholic lifestyle the 50% of the month she is in the state. WE are the ones that go without, and control our lifestyle!
