What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? MS
My mom had a stroke in Feb. She has medicare and AARP extended care. The nursing home says she has reached her skilled goal and her 100 day is 6/6, the want me to apply for medicade, AARP picks day 101-365 if she is being skilled. I told her doctor since she has been there she has lost 11 pounds and throws up daily, how can anyone do therapy when you feel that bad, I asked him to re-assess her therapy. She has a home that she has left to my daughter in a will, and 50K in CD's to my sister and I, paid on death. The CD's mature next week, she wants me to put the money in my account and pay all her bills and final expense, what is left split with my sis. How can I apply for medicaid and keep her stuff so the state doesn't take it and she can get medicaid. She only has an income of $840 per month from SSI. and about 6K in 2 checking accounts, which we cashed in from other CD's to pay for a sitter's care last year thru her stroke. Any way around this before I apply? Thanks
