sterotyped what can i do? Someone help please!

What is the name of your state? Ky :mad:I live in a small town in western ky where everyone thinks they know all about you wheter they do or not and back in febuary of 2004 my fiance and i were greeted at our door by state troopers they in short were following up on reports of suspected drug activity because we had alot of traffic to and from our home. It didn't seem to matter that I have 3 teenage kids 2 of which r girls ages 17 and 16 and a boy age 15 they do not have the same friends or keep the same hrs as to when they have company or not. Well my fiance was charged with possesssion of cont substance and several other things in which he has not yet been convicted of. Well the person i rent a house from for 500.00 mo since september has just recently notified us that we have 30 days to vacate the property cause he heard that we were cooking dope, selling dope and that the police were watching us and supposedly getting ready to bust us again. My family and I are so tire of all the rumors and gossip that I would like to issue a public notice in the lacal paper that these things r false and untrue and because of the visious rumors we have been thrown out of our house in the middle of winter with nowhere to go how can this notice read and is there anything i can do for the landloard evicting me over speculation?

You know for a fact you were not thrown out on the street. Eviction takes a while.

If you could afford this place to rent, why are you outside in the cold? Surely you can get a hotel Room if you could afford rent.

For one thing where I live its at least 50 miles 2 a motel room, My oldest is a senior, next is a junior, and son is a freshman. Its vertually impossible to get them back and forth to school 50 miles one way. I'm not in the cold yet but my 30 days is up the 16th of this month and then they will have to take me to court. I'm not even disputing having to move its the time allowed to do so and find another home to rent to move into. Its just BS that stupid people spreading stupid rumors are causing us to have to move out. And the rent was paid up till 1st of feb. Its just hard to find something or someone that will rent these days.

I find it unlikely that you would be charged with cooking meth on the basis of mere traffic to/from your house. Investigated? Maybe. Formally charged? no way.

What other evidence did they find? Buying a lot of over the counter medication? Waste from the meth process? Extremely high electric bills?

Well my fiance was charged with possesssion of cont substance manufacturing meth and several other things in which he has not yet been convicted of.
If he was charged with these crimes then chances are the officers had probable cause to do so. You cannot be charged on rumors and speculation.

As was earlier said. What evidence did they find to charge him with possesion and manufacturing? As I said there must have been evidence or he would not have been charged.

Ok people look I dont know where u live but I live in a town called Clay Ky where everyone literally are a bunch of hipacrites that only know how to stick their noses where they dont belong, as I've always said " If they r talking about me there giving someone else a rest " so where u live and where i live obviouslly r two totally different places.

And what exactly is the point of that little rant? I understand we may not live next door to you but you may be surprised to know where some of us live. I live in a very small apartment complex. Everyone knows everyones business. Not because we are nosey (ok we are) but becuase the walls are so damn thin you cant help but to hear everything.

But that wasnt the point of our questions.
You said you were doing nothing wrong but your husband was charged with possesion. To be charged with posession you must be possesing (funny how that works huh). So bassicly we feel we are not getting the whole story.

I am sure your man was in possesion of the drugs or he could not have been charged. I am sure you had the items in your house to be manufacturing the drugs or they could not have charged him with that either. Rumors and conjectures aside. The laws of the united states when it comes to certain things are pretty much uniform.

There really isnt much "good ol boy sheriffing" going on anymore.

So how about the whole story and lets see if you can get some sound advice.

PS. Taking from the screen name you are using. Not to play the profiling card here. But I am guessing you are a biker chick and you and hubby arent exactly innocent in this affair. If I am wrong please enlighten me. But I think we all know what happened here.

Probable cause is the same no matter the size of the town. Being on the TN/KY border ;) I know Clay and it is no different than any other small town. There was a reason, and you are just upset that you/he were caught.

Ok here goes.... manufacturing charge dropped grand jury found no true bill. Possession charge on meth was left, possession of marjauana was seeds that were found, now yes he was in possession of all and that was or has never been denied, he along with 87% of the county (webster) have or has had a possession charge. But my point and question is when i rented the house that i have been evicted from the landlord expressed that he knew of the charges he was facing and he only asked one thing of us, which was he said all i ask is that u do not cook in the house! At which we replied with, u dont have to worry about that because we were not using anymore. We were in a outpatient rehab program along with family counseling, and o program that was recently new in the county called CEO (churches embraceing offenders) and that what he asked of us was definatley not a problem. and now less than 6 months later he asked me to vacate the property because he heard rumors that we were cooking at the house, selling at the house, at were being watched by law officials and were suppossed to be getting busted because of all the traffic that was in and out of the house. Now I have 2 teenage girls that any males between the ages of 18-24 seem to chase around with their tounges dragging the ground and a 15 yr old boy with friends that r between ages of 16-21. I have a pool table and I let the kids hang out at my home often, my boyfriend work anywhere between 8-20 hrs a day sometimes. he works his ass off to pay the bills and support us and do the right thing for what, so that these ******* can speculate about what we do and get us thrown out of our home because of it. I think its wrong, now whether u do or not, is not for me to decide i just know that whether u do something the right way or the wrong way people r always going to judge u for the wrong and never let u forget it or be credited for the right that u try 2 do. And no i am not a biker chic we have a harley that his mother bought for him the same yr she died (95) and he keeps for sentmental reasons since its all he has left of her, he lost everything else he owned from the 2001 tornado that wiped out providence, and what we managed to recover from that the fire of our home burning 3 days after valentines day last yr took care of. we lost everything we had to the fire and recieved no help because once again rumors surfacced that we had a meth lab that caused the fire of course further investigation found it was from wiring of an electric heater we were using and the house was so old and wiring was so old caused it to overload. now anything else i can tell u? let me know

Well the possesion is a crime. The landlord can kick you out for any reason he sees fit as long as he follows the law and it isnt because a protected status. (possesion of narcotics is not a protected status)

Here is the deal. You could afford the 500 a month. Thats damn good. You can find a house Rent to own for that amount. Get it and then you own the house. If you have people comming n and out of your house constantly then make sure that you have no drugs lying around (or any for that damn matter it does nothing but complicate thaings) so when the police are called you can open your door and say come on in officer we have nothing you will find interesting in here. Then you can go to the police and have something done about the neighboors harrasing you. As for the neighboors in this case. You really have no case. What they said was not completely unfounded. You were in possesion of drugs (and though the old hag may have blown things out of proportion) it is still against the law and plenty of cause for your landlord to evict you.

Now look. It sounds harsh but this is the reality. I dont care if you guys sober up and become the most perfect people in the world. If jesus comes down and says damn yall are better then me. It isnt going to matter. People will always discriminate against you for your past.

I have a felony I commited 5 years ago. I have not been able to get a job in over a year now. I did have a job for 3 months that I was fired from becuase I machine feel on my foot and damn near severed it. They fired me for not being able to come into work after I went to the hospital and had it sown back together. I have been through al lof this. It sucks. I have been tempted to lie on applications about the felony. But I know if I do I will just end up loosing the job. So best I can say is leave this be. Take your life and live it. If you have to lay low. Then lay low. Tell the kids they have curfews for thier freinds comming over. Set the rules. You are the parents. I know it sucks but it is something you have to do.

I wish you the best.
And PS. Tell your man to get out and ride that bike. Its abuse if you leave a Harley sitting. I think that is an offense punishable by death.
