Hi, I am a single father of a boy, who will be 2 in July. The last 6 months, have been terrible for me, my ex girlfriend has totally cut off all visitation. I obtained a lawyer back in November, and she was very young, and Inexperienced. My ex got a lawyer who was very old, and very exp. and used all the tatics he could find. My ex. is trying to deny my visitation, saying that I am Anti-Social, Abusive, and have a Anger problem. Well, lets just say these statements are not true, and she is the type of person who will say or do anything to keep me from my son. My lawyer, did not stand up for me. So last week I decided to change my counsel, and am meeting with my new Lawyer on Tuesday June 12 at 1:30 PM. He is a very great attorney who I know can help me out. My problem is, I did not realize the court hearing was on June 12, at 11:00 AM. So, I need some help, is there any way to postpone, or put the court on hold, until I have further time to present my case? I was misrepresented in the past, and had no choice but to change lawyers.

That's probably the easiest thing you'll have to deal with. Monday morning, call the judges office. Tell them that you have hired a new lawyer and you need a continuance. They will grant one considering the circumtances.
