I'm currently in the process of suing someone. Much to my surprise, this suit caught the eye of both Judge Mathis and Judge Judy. I'm leaning towards Judge Judy, but I'd like to know if anyone knows of any "catches". I've never sued anyone before and need any help I can get before making a fool of myself on national television.

How many people have you seen go on Judge Judy and NOT make fools of themselves? My current count is 4. Her job is to make people look foolish in an entertaining way so she can get ratings!

According to IAAL, if you are male, DO NOT go before judge judy. Also, I THINK judy tends to "split the baby" a lot when defendants make counterclaims. I often think the defendant didn't prove their counterclaim, but she reduces the plaintiff's award anyway. That's just my opinion, however. I could be wrong.

OTOH, the TV shows pay any awards the judge grants, so at least you know you'll collect your judgment. Not a trivial concern if your defendant has little money or a low-paying job! :)

It's your choice.
