I recently sold a water slide on Craigslists and brought it to the lady on 5/24 the thursday before memorial day weekend. I stated to her since she was not coming out to look at the slide that i recommend her blowing it up and making sure she is satisfied. That next day I got an email saying it was a smooth transaction and she can't wait to use it for the weekend. Now today June 2 she is telling me the thing is full of holes and that she only let her kids use it for 2 hours.
I know without a doubt that there were no holes as we inspected it from head to toe the night before while cleaning it. It was inflated for 2 hours with no problems and the slide is less then 1 year old.
So now she wants her money back for a slide that wasn't sold to her in the condition as stated. Can you please tell me who is at fault here? I want to do the right thing but how am I to know she didn't want the thing just for memorial day weekend and now is using excuses to get her money back. Is she at fault for not looking at it before purchasing? Is she liable for waiting 8 days to blow it up? In her first email she mentioned a pressure slit and in her second email she mentioned now findind a hole that is "pretty big".
The women is coming today to show me the slide. i have no problem with it but is it my obligation to give her the money back? Her husband also suggested paying him $100 towards a brand new slide (the slide was $175), in that case who would get the slide?
