What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OR

I need some help.

I needed to pay rent, So I listed my Working Xbox 360 with games on craigslist for $210.

I was e-mail about it, and we set up a time to meet.

He gave me the money and we both left.

I got a Text message from him saying that it works and thanks for the great deal. After I got that message I went and paid my rent.

Later on that night I got a e-mail from his dad, saying that the xbox dose not work??? And he wants $100 to fix it.

What do I do?? I know that When I gave him the Xbox It was working... And He told me it was.

Sounds like a "buyer beware" situation. In addition to the "it works great" feedback, used anything (cars, appliances, game consoles) is up to the buyer to make sure it's worth buying, and unless you knew it was on its last leg and "forgot" to mention it, then there's really nothing more you need to do. Although, I don't think that anyone has to worry about non-disclosure for a gaming console.

I sincerely doubt that the father or the buyer will push it any farther than a "I'm very sorry it is no longer working, but it was in good shape when it was sold" email, but on the off-chance that they threaten you with small claims or something, don't worry. They would have to prove that you sold them a pos, and then you have the text message saying, "Awesome X-Box, works great!"

So, breathe easy.
