What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

I have lived here longer then the new management people have been here and they are crazy; however, they are childhood friends of the property owners so they aren't going anywhere. Today when I asked him if he was going to do something about the terrible ant problem we have or that sewer roaches are getting in the apt and that I had to go and buy my own stuff to spray he told me he didn't have to do anything and if I didn't like the problem to "Hit the road" I took pictures of the yard because the grass is past my knees and its not been cut in 2 months but he yelled at me for setting my trash out front this morning. His wife threatens the they are going to have to evict me if I dont answer her calls. But she calls about nothing important all she does is talk of how sick she is and I dont have time for that. I even have an email from her where she asked if she could come and live with me and bring her daughter ( in my one bedroom place that I live in with my baby), because her husband was mean to her and she was leaving him. The two of them are nuts, but me and my neighbors, there are six of us, have all been here for 8 or more yrs. I am afraid every month, now that they had only me sign a month to month lease, that they are going to throw me out. I have a little baby and no money to move. What can I do about the threats if anything, and the disarray this place is in?

Please let me know

Did you bring the ant problem to the manager's attention via a letter sent certified mail, return receipt requested? If you didn't, he can claim that he didn't know there was a problem. It becomes a "he said, she said" situation.

I've never heard of "sewer" roaches, but the same goes for that situation. Spraying is no guarantee that they won't come back. They probably relocated to the apartment next door and will return when the fumes have evaporated.

The fact that the grass needs cutting doesn't mean it's okay not to properly dispose of the trash.

That you don't know how to diplomatically terminate an unwanted call is not the fault of the manager.

You need to research the laws in your state regarding eviction.

Your city can tell you what if any ords there are regarding grass length and in some citys they will send someone out and order via citation to the owner to have the grass cut. You can call your city hall from a payphone and refuse to tell them anything more than you live there if you want them to come out and cite the owner after you have learned if there is a local ord addressing the grass. Your phone , well use call ID , a message machine or just ask the phone co to change your number and NEVER call them. Take the time to learn what your state requires of LL/T when notices are given with a change ,like amount of rent or notices to move and make sure not only you follow them but then you know how you would fight a notice that is not proper. Keep all communications to the LL in writting as well. INC keeping a copy of your lease and any communications you have with them in a safe place away from your unit.
