I let a woman who to my house crying begging for a place to stay in my basement apartment for a couple of months. She said she was unreasobaly being kicked out of her apartment and was given no time and was out on the streets with her kids. I later found out she did the same thing to her precious landlord who lived two houses down from me.It has now turned into a year and she refuses to leave. I told her I could not have pets on the premises and she brought PITBULL(angryone). Now she threatens me with the dog and with physical violence. I want to catch it on tape. Because when i called the police that i needed to be able to prove it. And my neigbors are scared of her so no one wants to say anything on my behalf.I am being terrorized because I want her out. I want my basement back. She threatned to call the town that I have an illegal basement after all that I did for her. I have not actually collected any set monies for her. But When she first got in she asked me to give her a lease and some receipts in the amount of 775.00. Because she was aplying for section 8 and some kind of housing grant to buy a home. Now she is using it against me and saying she will bring it to court. The lease I gave her was a month to month and it described no pets. She wont let me give her any more notices and says if I come near her she will sick the crazy dog on me. I cant even go down to my laundryroom down there now. What can I do? I have gone to lanlord tenant court and filed the eviction notice but I dont have a court date. In the mean time this woman is terrorizing me. Cursing at me when she sees me walking to my car. Im afraid to run into her while she is walking her dog. Never will I do a favor for anyone like that. I guess its what I get for having compassion.

Even though you didn't ask - EVICT!!!

She filed the eviction notice, the situation she is in is not a legal one, she seems to be asking how to avoid a crazy lady and her dog.

I do not know how too, I have never gotten in such a situation.

I prefer to wait for stories like that to be made into a good feature length film.

From the look of the trailers of Tarantino's new movie "Hostel" I think it has been made into a movie!

Basements/ Dungeons... craziness...

What I am asking is if there is anything I can do to get rid of her faster besides the eviction procedure? I want to know what can I do to make my case stronger in court about how she is threatening me and refuses to leave. I feel like I cant do a thing but live with this until I get the court date. Its not fair that i live like this in my own home :(

Really hard to get rid of a tenant without a court order. You have to go the legal route unless she truly physically harms you. Then you have a criminal act which would involve police action.

Good luck.

There is a lot you could do to speed up the process, but you'd end up in prison for the rest of your life.

Lesson to be learned: There are lots of folks out there with sob stories. Your decision to rent should be be a business decision, not a bleeding heart one. In the future check out your tennants out FIRST.

I don't think a crying woman who needs a basement apartment fast because they lost their last one is on my reference checklist.

Let me look.
