A major card company mishandled my account so badly that my credit report is very badly damaged and it was AAA before their sloppiness. Do I have a claim for intewrest damages and/or punitive damages?

You are not at all likely to be able to recover any interest from the credit card company. It is somewhat more possible that you could recover punitive damages, though I would say the probability of that is slim. Your damages that you can recover will depend on the facts of your case. Since you have not told us what they are, I can't give you any other advice at this time.
