I have a situation with a client who has Alzheimer's; their son charged a little under $2K in clothes on the father's VISA card, and the father now says he never
gave permission for that and wants to prosecute. The charges stopped and the son says his dad said he could do it for his birthday (big 4-0).
Dad is extremely disoriented and clearly can't remember anything from one moment to the next. I don't think he really wants to do anything about this, but his daughter is forcing the issue. Can we force the son to repay the charges, or should we press criminal charges?
Thanks,
Connie
