i signed with a debt consolidation service including a optima acct.
i also have a regular american express that wasn't included in the consolidation. i withdrew the optima from the service, but american express had turned both accounts over to a collection agency for payment in full. both of the accounts were in good standing and i wasn't notified this happened. is this legal? everyone i talk to in the various depts of american express and optima give me different answers. i don't have the monies to pay in full and they won't even talk about payments. they want to take me to court. i desperately need help with this!! i don't want my credit stained with this mess, i have excellent credit.
