I signed a four year lease for a credit card machine for my new business in 1997. Unfortunately, the business failed and I filed bankruptcy in 1998. I forgot to list the company I leased the machine from in the bankruptcy papers. They are taking me to court in a month.

I was single when I owned the business and when I filed bankruptcy. I got married about a month after bankruptcy was complete. Does the company have the right to any of my wifes assets or garnish her wages?

Thanks.

Spouse's liability for pre-marital debts

Colorado is not a community property state; therefore, the company does not have the right to your wife's assets or wages.
