5 years ago my ex husband filed bankrupt and left me with a joint credit cared debt which ended up being charged off. recently I decieded to see if I could get this debt off my credit report by making a settlement payment I sent them a letter and check by cerified mail stating that to go ahead and cash the check if they ageed that this payment would be payment in full and they were to remove the derogatory information from my credit report. Since it was sent registered mail some had to have signed and read the terms of cashing my check. The check was cashed but it still appears on my credit report do I have any recourse?

Your best course of action might be to contact the credit reporting agency directly to try to have the items removed.
