What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Married in Florida, currently reside in Tennessee.

While separated my wife ran up a credit card we shared. She is refusing to pay any of it because "I am having to pay for the apartment on my own". The apartment she actually asked me to leave, but everytime she has asked I have given her money.
While separated she ran up the credit card and now i'm stuck making the payments and a divorce has not been filled yet. She did this while I was living in Tennessee and she in Florida. Is there ANYTHING at all I can do before the divorce proceedings begin to help pay for this card? I have new medical bills about to start coming in and I won't have the money to pay the card she ran up and my medical bills I will have.

And to add more icing onto the cake. the marriage has only lasted 1 year. While that was going on she took out student loans for school and other things. She is also trying to stick me with those.

Thank you.

Ok. In the divorce you can ask for half the debt to be assigned to her but your name is still on the account, the bank will come after you if she does not pay.

Her student loans will never become yours, they are separate debts.
