I have a friend that was seventeen and issued a credit card and she maxed the five thousand dollar credit limit before her eighteenth birthday. In new york state contracts are not binding unless you are eighteen years of age or older. Does this apply, and can she be held legally responsible for the debt incurred if she was not legally able to have a credit card?
