What is the name of your state? Colorado

I recently filed CH 7 and now when collectors call, I tell them I filed and they ask for my attorney's name. I don't have one and I don't want them to know I don't have a lawyer. Why do they insist and why don't they just ask me for a case number? I hung up on the guy after I told him of my filing. He called back harrassing me and told me I need to grow up and pay my bills. He then told me he's going to sue me. I know he can't sue me but can he call after I told him I filed?

I can understand your ire at these scumbags, but you really DO need to tell them that you have filed Pro Se and give them your BK case number, then hang up on the dipwads. Do you know if they've received notice of your filing yet ?? If they call back, they are breaking the law since you notified them and gave them the case information. NOW they're deliberately violating the automatic stay and you can have the BK court slap them down for it, so remind them that they ARE violating the automatic stay and hang up. They cannot do a damn thing.. and they know it. Best thing to do is NOT talk to them at all ! They'll get the notice from the court soon enough.
