My brother has been charged with criminal neglect in the death of my mother. she was 81, had Parkinson's and osteoarthritis. became bedridden in last few weeks of life. had severe bed sores on bottom and back. brother swears he did all he could to help. she spoke to me by phone 3 weeks before she had a stroke and said he was taking good care of her. DA wants victim statement from me. brother needs psyciatric help. help me.

Talk to your brother's lawyer and see what s/he advises regarding the victim statement. You dont' have to talk to the DA if you don't want to. Get brother a private attorney. You won't be able to get him psychiatric help in jail.

This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws.
